Who are we?

The Six Rivers Initiative (SRI) is a grassroots voluntary member association of private land stewards, supported by community members and service providers who have joined together to bring culture, economies and ecology into balance.

What We See for Generations

‐ a region‐wide, natural resource working landscape that is richly productive, community connected, and resilient culturally, ecologically and economically‐

‐ The pastoral and forested landscape is managed by people committed to the application of historical knowledge of the specific economies and ecologies of their land for the purpose of maintaining long term economic, cultural and ecological viability and resilience of their land and communities.‐

The SRI Mission

a) Maintain and enhance the productive and cultural integrity of the Initiative's bioregion, to support the people to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.

b) Provide a unified voice to create and perpetuate productivity through a culture of husbandry and stewardship over our working natural resource landscapes.
